1. Introduction to Tarot--This workshop is for the person who is interested or intrigued by Tarot, but lacks knowledge or skill with it. This course will take the participant through the history and origins of the tarot, how Hollywood has added mystery and mystique to tarot. Next, we will look at the variety of decks out there, and discuss other card divination systems out there.
We will look at caring for your cards, cleansing them, and picking a deck for self.
We will then look at learning the cards, and the symbolism. Then, we will learn about how to interpret the cards using a journal, symbolism guides, colour, and intuition as well, learning about how picture language of the tarot works.
We will examine the Celtic Cross layout, and other layouts, including making up your own lay out. We will go over ways to engage tarot as a student, and ways to apply tarot to other systems, such as numerology, and so forth.
Finally, we will get to know one another, and learn to do practise reading for each other in the class, and talk about how to read for others, ways to word interpretations for others, and the ethics of reading.
Participants will need a tarot deck and a notebook. Handouts will be provided. An opportunity to participate in a private elist to ask questions during the class, and online chat schedule will be available.
